Property finder is an interactive map used to make township Geographic information System (GIS) data available to the public. Information is displayed in the form of layers which can be turned on and off using the layer drop down menu. Data may be searched such as parcel ID number, address, property owner’s name, developments, and streets using specialized tasks. Other viewable data layers include aerial imagery, streets, water, sanitary, floodplain, parcels, developments, and base map layers.
Map Layers
The map layers can be accessed by clicking the Layer List symbol found in the lower middle of property finder.
To turn a layer on or off, check or uncheck the eye symbol. Some layers are only accessible at certain zoom levels, so zooming in or out will make them appear or disappear. There are a variety of data layers available, which include Agriculture Security Area, Developments, Streets, Address Points, Water, Sanitary, Floodplain, Parcels , and NonAerialBaseMap. By default the basemap is the aerial imagery but if you wish to switch to a street basemap without the aerial turn on this layer.
The Search feature is open by default in the upper right hand corner.
This searches addresses, streets, Parcels by ID, Parcels by Owner, and Developments. You can enter any of these parameters into the search box to get your search results. Or you can select a specific search using the drop down next to the search text box.
You can measure on the map using the measure tool in the upper right corner.
You also can view the legend of the map, draw on the map, and export the map to an image file using the print tool in the center bottom of the application.
The navigation toolbar can be found on the lefthand side of the screen. The plus and minus signs zoom in and out on the map.
The home button zooms to the original map extent.
The location button allows you to show your current location if you can use location services.
A scale bar is available in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
