Positions and Requirements

Codes Administrator II - This is a full-time position. Cranberry Township is a growing residential and business community that is constantly striving to build connections between the local government and its residents and business owners. The Codes Administrator, Level II position will serve as a point of contact to both the residents and business owners in the community. Responsibilities for this position include: performing all state mandated residential and commercial inspections (except for electrical inspection); property maintenance and fire prevention inspections; as well as enforcing the PA UCC and local zoning ordinances. This position will also conduct residential building and zoning plan review, issuing permits, providing internal and external customer service and technical assistance as needed.

This position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, a strong commitment to tasks completed on time and will provide a somewhat faster-than-average pace. This position will provide security in a stable work environment, allowing individuals to plan for, focus on and complete tasks on hand.

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED; an Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred. 2 years’ experience in Codes Administration preferred. The following UCC certifications are required: Residential Building Inspector, Residential Plumbing Inspector, Residential Mechanical Inspector and Residential Energy Inspector; Commercial Building; Plumbing; Mechanical; Energy Inspector; and Accessibilities Inspector/Plans Examiner. Fire Inspector certification and PA UCC BCO certification is preferred. The successful applicants will be required to obtain the PA UCC BCO certification within one year of employment. Applicants must have a valid, insurable driver’s license.

Applicants must able to work independently, work on multiple projects simultaneously, work both in the office and in-the-field, be able to adapt to a constantly changing work environment and have excellent customer relations skills. Approximate Hourly Wage: $26.00-$27.00 plus our fringe benefits program. 
Codes Administrator I - This is a full-time position. Responsibilities for this position include: the administration, review, approval and issuance of all residential building, sign and zoning permits and related licenses in compliance with Township regulations, codes and ordinances. This position will also conduct residential building and zoning plan review, issuing permits, providing internal and external customer service and technical assistance as needed.
 
This position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will receive ongoing and thorough training opportunities to develop expertise. This position will provide security in a stable work environment, allowing individuals to plan for, focus on and complete tasks on hand.
This position requires a High School Diploma or GED; an Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred. No experience required. Experience in construction, engineering or related field preferred. Applicants must have a valid, insurable driver’s license.

The successful candidate shall be required to obtain the following PA. UCC Residential Certifications within one year from the date of hire: Residential Building Inspector, Residential Plumbing Inspector, Residential Mechanical Inspector and Residential Energy Inspector
The successful candidate will also be expected to obtain the appropriate PA. UCC Commercial Inspection certifications within three years from date of hire. Approximate Hourly Wage: $22.50-$24.00 plus our fringe benefits program. 
Long Seasonal Groundskeeper, Public Works - We are seeking applicants for seasonal staff to maintain the grounds within the Cranberry Township parks from approximately March to November at a starting rate of $12.00/hour. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, mowing, athletic field repair, and maintenance of the restrooms, playgrounds and pavilions. Applicants normally work 40 hours per week, but flexible scheduling is available. Some weekend work is required. Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a valid insurable driver's license.
Summer Seasonal Groundskeeper, Public Works - We are seeking applicants for seasonal staff to maintain the grounds within the Cranberry Township parks from approximately May through August at a starting rate of $10.50/hour. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, mowing, athletic field repair, and maintenance of the restrooms, playgrounds and pavilions. Applicants normally work 40 hours per week, but flexible scheduling is available. Successful candidates will be required to work one day each weekend. Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a valid insurable driver's license.
Grille Server, Golf Course - Flexible hours (18-32 hours per week). Duties include, but not limited to, serving food and beverages to golf course patrons, cash handling, limited food preparation and maintaining cleanliness of clubhouse. Customer service skills a must. Wages start at $7.75/ hour plus gratuity. Must be available 4/1/19 – 10/28/19, 18 years of age, and have a valid driver’s license.

Before School Attendant, Parks and Recreation -  We are accepting applications for Before School Attendants to work 8-15 hours a week Monday- Friday mornings. This position is responsible for providing a safe, fun environment, assisting with activities, crafts and games with enthusiasm and age appropriate instruction, providing feedback to parents about child’s behavior, as well as other duties as assigned. Candidates must be at least 15 years old. Experience in working with children preferred.

Dek Hockey Official, Parks and Recreation - We are accepting applications for part-time Dek Hockey Officials for the Youth Dek Hockey league. Candidates must have a working knowledge of the rules of Dek Hockey, must be dependable, and motivated to learn. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings and weekends. The rate of pay is $13.00 per hour. Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age and must obtain FBI, Child Abuse and PA Criminal clearances upon hire.
