Budgets and Financial Reports

2026 Budget:
Destination Cranberry

For over three decades, Cranberry Township has been a destination for those seeking to live, work, and play in a vibrant, thriving community. The Board of Supervisors has led the charge not only to create a destination worth visiting but also to establish the infrastructure that ensures it is easily accessible.

Cranberry Township’s 2026 budget continues this longstanding commitment, utilizing innovative funding strategies and careful planning to enhance and expand the level of services in both the short and long term without an increase to the General Tax millage.

The fiscally responsible budget coincides with a recent Moody’s Aaa bond rating, reflecting the Township’s robust financial position. The Township is one of only 14 municipalities in Pennsylvania—and the only one in Western Pennsylvania—to achieve an Aaa rating.

The $109,533,744 budget focuses on preserving and enhancing the community's identity, character, and livability while ensuring that high-quality services meeting current and future needs are delivered seamlessly. This includes an ever-increasing demand on assets and infrastructure, which continue to age and require constant attention.

2025 Budget:
Enhancing Community Spaces

Cranberry’s public community spaces are critical to what makes the Township desirable.

The 2025 proposed budget continues a longstanding commitment to strengthening and improving those community assets while advancing critical infrastructure – all while being prudent with spending and investments.

The trend of smart investments and careful planning ensures no tax increase is needed in 2025. This has also earned the Township a consistent Aaa Bon rating from Moody’s, one of the only municipalities in Pennsylvania, to boast such an accomplishment.

The budget includes funding the completion of the Armstrong Great Lawn and the Municipal Center Renovation Project, as well as improvements at Community Park, Cranberry Highlands Golf Course, and the Waterpark. It also allows for research and assessment of new recreational opportunities.

Elsewhere, the solids handling upgrades at the Brush Creek Treatment Plant will pick up speed, bringing more efficiency to the top-tier facility. In addition, the implementation of stormwater management and maintenance projects remain a priority to meet existing Department of Environmental Protection permit requirements.

Public safety continues to be a focus, with the Township continuing support of Police, Fire, and EMS organizations.

2024 Budget:
Establishing Priorities for a Prosperous Community

Cranberry’s commitment to getting the most out of its money will continue in 2024.

In keeping with the expectations set through previous budgets, the Board of Supervisors approved the 2024 budget that maintains current tax rates on Thursday, December 7.

The fiscally sound budget simultaneously pursues value-enhancing community assets while advancing critical infrastructure needs. It also ensures tax rates remain unchanged and continues efforts that have earned Cranberry a Aaa Moodys Rating.

The budget focuses on further improving and maintaining the Township’s infrastructure, including:

  • Replacement of the Franklin Acres lift station
  • Develop funding strategy for the Brush Creek Treatment Plant solids upgrade project
  • Complete an update to the Transportation Impact Fee program
  • Phase 2 of the Township’s Municipal Separated Storm Sewer System plan, focusing on streambank restoration in the Cedarbrook, Manor Creek Farms, Glenbrook Manor, and Settlers Grove areas.
  • Pinehurst culvert replacement
  • Develop a Route 19 water line replacement strategy and begin design
  • Continued work on the Municipal Center Modernization project, including technology, furniture, fixtures, and appliances, as well as the total renovation of the front of the building to include the Armstrong Great Lawn project.
  • High-quality maintenance of 136 miles of Township-owned roads, including traffic signal upgrades along the Township’s busiest corridors.

As has been a priority for decades, the Township will continue planning for the future by looking at the needs of the community. Planning efforts include:

  • Final Engineering of the Community Park North Master Plan
  • Development of the Powell Farm Master Plan
  • Development of a Water Park Master Plan
  • Implementation of the Golf Course Master Plan
  • Advance an update to the pedestrian/bike plan to improve mobility
  • Advancement of an Arts, Culture, and Recreation Center feasibility study
