Township roads could get a little safer thanks to a grant received from the state.
The Board of Supervisors on August 3 will consider an agreement for design services for Fiber Implementation of a Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency (PCCD) Grant Award. The grant will help strengthen the Police Department’s crime fighting tools and capabilities.
The Township received the PCCD grant to expand systems the department uses to catch criminals, including cameras and supporting software. However, design and engineering services are not covered by the grant. The proposed agreement with Herbert Rowland & Grubic Inc. would address those items.
Once implemented, upgrades will enhance enforcement and investigation capabilities and increase capacity to detect stolen, wanted, and other vehicles of interest. The goal of this Project is to increase safety, accuracy, and efficiency, while also deterring crime.
