A plan to improve the flow of traffic in a popular Township drive-thru will be considered by the Board of Supervisors on March 2.
Chick-Fil-A, 1700 Route 228, is requesting a conditional use to reconfigure drive-thru lanes and the parking lot at the 4,903-square-foot restaurant. The Board heard testimony on the changes during the Feb. 23 meeting.
Built in 2003 and updated in 2017, the popular restaurant has seen its business switch to primarily drive-thru orders. The reconfiguration would see the existing order delivering canopy demolishes and two new canopies constructed. Two lanes will be used, and an additional full access point will be created on Longtree Way. This would reduce the traffic queue from spilling into nearby business parking lots.
Additionally, dedicated walkways and pedestrian connections will allow for safer access to the building.
