A major roadway through the Township is due for improvements, and the Township could soon get on board to help in the process.
At the Feb. 2 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board entered into a Reimbursement Agreement with PennDOT for the Franklin Road Improvement project.
PennDOT is in the process of designing the project which focuses on Franklin Road between Route 228 and Peters Road. Elements include widening and realignment, and the project is anticipated to begin later this year.
Through the agreement, the Township will coordinate design elements, and ensure sewer and water infrastructure is properly relocated.
In a related matter, the Board approved a sewer and water line design contract with KCI Technologies Inc. for the project, with PennDOT reimbursing much of the amount.
