Taming traffic has long been a Township priority.
At the October 6 meeting, the Board of Supervisors will consider four grants aimed at keeping traffic flowing along the busiest corridors.
Three grants come via separate requests to the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission's Regional Traffic Signal Program. The funding would be used for re-timing projects on Route 19, Route 228/Freedom Road Corridor, and Rochester Road.
The Board will also consider approving a submission for a PennDOT Traffic Signal Technology Grant to upgrade controllers at six intersections along Route 19. The Township would be required to match 20% of the cost if the grant is awarded.
