The Township is barking up the right tree with a planned expansion on the Dog Park in Community Park.
The Board of Supervisors on June 24 granted preliminary and final land development for the expanded Dog Park. The 3.7-acre area will be adjacent to and replace the existing dog park in Community Park.
The new park will have two activity areas: a 48,000 square foot area for larger dogs, and a 30,000 square foot area for smaller dogs. Both parks will be enclosed and offer a mix of shaded and open space thanks to the existing tree line.
The Park will also feature new amenities, including a 560-square-foot pavilion. To accommodate the expanded space, the road will be upgraded, and a 47-space parking lot will be added.
Construction is expected to begin in fall 2021, with site prep already underway.
