The Township Municipal Center will be washed in blue in commemoration of National Police Week.
From May 9-15, 2021, the lighting outside of the building will be blue as a thank you for the hard work and commitment displayed by the Township’s Police Department, as well as law enforcement officers everywhere.
National Police Week began in 1962 when President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
