The concept of loving thy neighbor is alive and well in Cranberry Township.
The Township’s new focus on community forums will only strengthen those bonds while also uniting individual communities. The Neighborhood Forum, formerly known as the Homeowners Association Forum, will feature not only a new name but a new format and more frequent meetings – and, hopefully, new members.
The meetings will each have a detailed agenda, with alternating focuses every other month. Meetings during even-numbered months will focus on the Neighborhood Playbook. Led by the Township’s Planning & Development Services Department, these will feature discussions on HOA by-laws and finance management.
Participants will work to create a playbook for how the HOA operates, their creation and how to best keep residents informed. Updates from the Board of Supervisors, Planning Advisory Commission and Environmental Advisory Committee will also be shared. Odd-numbered months will feature the Neighborhood Event Playbook, during which members of the Communications Department will discuss Township programs and events, as well as topics such as stormwater and public safety. Nonprofit and business leaders will randomly participate as special guests.
A roundtable discussion will conclude each meeting, with Township Manager Dan Santoro serving as moderator. If a neighborhood is not part of the forum, please contact Planning & Development Services at 724-776-4806 ext. 1104 to become involved. Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month.
