The human body isn’t the only thing that slows down due to excess fats, oil and grease.
Those elements can harm wastewater systems – even the newly renovated Brush Creek Water Pollution Control Facility.
Because of the potential for damage to the new system, the Board of Supervisors will soon consider a replacement of the Township’s wastewater pre-treatment regulations.
The changes focus on industrial facilities that generate process wastewater in an effort to strengthen pretreatment requirements. It also includes a new enforcement response plan that will ensure compliance.
The Board authorized the advertisement of these changes for the Board’s consideration at their September 24 meeting.
