The Seneca Valley School District is delaying the physical start date to Tuesday, September 8.
Citing the COVID-19 pandemic and the ever-changing landscape, the Seneca Valley School Board approved the extension, as well as a cohort delivery of instruction for the first four weeks of the school year.
This plan allows for less students to be in buildings at one time. Under the cohort model, which will be used until October 5, students will be split into two groups based on last name A-L and M-Z. While one group of students are in the buildings, the others will be participating virtually.
A decision on the instructional model to be used after October 5 will be reached by September 25.
