The Cranberry Community Apiary will be buzzing with activity later this month.
The first open apiary event of the year is set for 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, July 19 at the Apiary, 5604 Freshcorn Road.
During the event, local gardening guru Doug Oster will discuss how to make home yards, gardens and landscaping more pollinator friendly. That will be followed by a tour of a honeybee hive and a discussion of the complexity of their species.
Attendees are asks to arrive with masks on, and social distancing will be maintained throughout the event. No open shoes are permitted, and long pants should be worn. Safety gear will be provided.
