At its September 26 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors reviewed a draft contract between the Township and the Breakneck Creek Regional Authority. The proposed Agreement would provide for the treatment of wastewater which currently passes through the Franklin Acres Lift Station. The agreement will enable the Township to dismantle that pumping station, which is now used to move wastewater from the Franklin Road area into the Brush Creek treatment plant. Instead, the flow will be diverted by gravity into the Breakneck treatment facility. That change will help to lengthen the life of Cranberry’s newly expanded Brush Creek plant, extending the time until the next expansion would be needed. Final action on the contract is anticipated at the Board’s October 3 meeting.
