For single-family homes in 2020, the fee will be $3 a month. Apartments, institutional, and commercial properties will pay an amount based on their area of impervious surface.
To explain how the program works and the basis for calculating the fee, the Township will host an Open House from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9 in Council Chambers.
Township officials will be on-hand at various information stations to answer questions about the billing, stormwater fee process, and general stormwater fee information including the statewide Municipal Separate Sewer System program, or MS4, which is the driver of the new regulations. Township water customers will also be able to learn about the new Customer Portal website that helps them track their fresh water consumption and allows them to set alerts based on various use conditions.
The proposed stormwater fee program follows the Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection’s approval of a mandatory plan prepared by the Township to improve flood control and decrease stormwater runoff pollution both in and downstream of the Township.
