National Honey Bee Day is marked as an awareness day to celebrate honey bees and to recognize their critical contribution to our ecosystem. This year, National Honey Bee Day will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17. In recognition of this important day, Cranberry Township Community Chest’s newest project, the Cranberry Highlands Community Apiary, would like to bring awareness to their beekeepers, honey hives, and blooming pollinator garden that adorns part of the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course.
In accordance with this awareness day of honey bees, CTCC is raising funds that will directly benefit the new Community Apiary. A one-day online fundraising campaign is scheduled for Saturday, August 17th. Individuals will be encouraged to visit https://www.mightycause.com/story/Cranberrybees and donate to support the bees, and the educational programming that surrounds the initiative.
Cranberry Township Giant Eagle has generously agreed to match all donations up to $2,000.
The Cranberry Township Community Chest (CTCC) is a non-profit organization focused on creating sustainability and long-term community health for Cranberry Township.
