Cranberry’s newly expanded Park Fire Station on Rt. 19 by the entrance to Community Park, is about to officially open for business. A public open house on Saturday morning, May 11 from 9:00 to noon will be held to commemorate completion of the two-story structure which also includes overnight accommodations and a full basement. A complementary pancake breakfast will be served until 11:00. Station tours will be offered prior to a formal 11:15 dedication ceremony. The expansion is part of the Township’s effort to increase the number of fire company volunteers, strengthen their sense of camaraderie, and reduce response times, which currently average a little under ten minutes.
