A newly released report from SafeWise, a website focused on safety issues and security systems, has placed Cranberry Township among the nation’s 100 safest places. The company’s analysis, which was based on FBI crime data for 2017 and population statistics from the U.S. Census, placed Cranberry as the 52nd safest community in America. Approximately 70 percent of the safe cities cited in the report are located in the Northeast. Pennsylvania included 10 of the study’s safest communities, placing it third among states, behind Connecticut and New Jersey. Only communities with 15,000 or more residents were included in the report.
