[ARCHIVED] Buckle up or pay up

turkey and seat belts

Cranberry Township police are preparing to participate in a nationwide “Click it or Ticket” campaign during the high-traffic weeks around Thanksgiving.  Pennsylvania law requires all drivers as well as passengers under age 18 to wear seat belts.  Police will also be looking for proper use of restraints for infants, toddlers and young children in the vehicle.

Fines for failing to use seat belts are $75 in addition to any other traffic violation cited.  More importantly, half of those killed in vehicle crashes were not belted in; seat belts save lives.
