There’s a lot of construction going on in Cranberry Springs. In addition to new restaurant, hotel, retail and office buildings, excavations for the MSA Thruway – a new roadway under 228 connecting Cranberry Woods to Cranberry Springs – is generating a lot of dirt. What to do with it all became something of a challenge. The developer’s answer: dump it on a six-acre plot of land adjacent to the neighboring self-storage hill site and then re-grade it. However, a grading project like that would be so big that it would have to come to the Township’s Board of Supervisors for land development approval. At its May 3 meeting, the Board gave their okay to the earthmoving project.
