Vehicle theft investigator joins police force
Former state trooper brings more than 20 years experience to his specialty
A state grant has enabled Cranberry to add an experienced auto theft specialist to its police force. Prior to his retirement last month, Air Force veteran Scott Monroe had worked for more than 20 year as a State Trooper focusing on organized forms of vehicle theft including out-of-state gangs who steal heavy construction equipment, trucks and expensive cars for resale in distant locations or pass them along to chop shops which alter their appearance to elude detection. At its April 27 meeting, Officer Monroe was formally welcomed into Cranberry’s police department.
