The Alps Avenue site of Batesville Casket at the corner of Rochester Road is passing on. In its place, American Building Products – a vendor of gutters, windows and other construction supplies to the building trades – will open its doors in the back of the 25,000 square foot building formerly occupied by Batesville, according to the buyer’s Conditional Use application. The part of the building facing Rochester Road would become a tenant retail or office space. A currently undeveloped 3.4-acre lot on Alps Avenue immediately adjacent to the existing building is proposed to house a new 16,000 square foot office building in a potential sub-phase of the project. At its February 23 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors accepted public comment on the application and agreed to consider action on the proposal at its March 2 meeting.
