The Sheetz convenience store on Freedom Road has acquired a state license to sell beer. The license, which was purchased at a public auction, had previously belonged to Cranberry’s On The Border restaurant. Following the restaurant’s loss of its license, the permit was held for auction by the state’s Liquor Control Board and Sheetz was the highest bidder. Sheetz competitor Get-Go is currently selling beer. At its January 26 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors accepted public testimony on the license transfer; local government acceptance of liquor license transfers is required by the state. Final action will be considered at the Board’s February 2 meeting. For more information, contact Planning and Development Services Director Ron Henshaw at ron.henshaw@cranberrytownship.org.
