Cranberry Township has again received the AAA Platinum Traffic Safety Award – the Automobile Association’s highest – in recognition of the Township’s efforts to achieve improved traffic safety through a variety of programs and activities. In presenting the award to Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on December 15, Police Sgt. William Ahlgren, who heads the Township’s Traffic Division, explained that the Association's basis for selecting Cranberry centered on the Township's work in multiple areas affecting traffic safety including enforcement, education, engineering and road maintenance. A plaque commemorating the award was received by the Township at a AAA luncheon in November. It was the ninth year that Cranberry has received the prestigious award – the only community in Butler County to be honored with the platinum award this year.
