Developers of a new six-story, 101 room Best Western Plus hotel received land development approval to build the 68,000 square foot structure on a 2-acre site adjacent to the Cranberry Springs and Cranberry Crossroads commercial developments. The go-ahead to construct their building, whose site was shifted a few feet northeast from its initial planned location, was made possible by a land swap with a neighboring property owner, which the Board also approved. The hotel will be the first project of its scale to employ an enhanced stormwater management system using pervious pavers to allow stormwater to be absorbed into the ground without the use of detention ponds or stormwater tanks.
