Initial design for the long-expected second phase of Graham Park, which will encompass much of the currently undeveloped land at the park’s southern end, is expected to be underway soon. HRG Engineering was awarded a $56,000 contract by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on May 5 to perform site design services for environmental permitting, grading and the development of bid specifications for the park’s Phase Two infrastructure. The study’s initial focus will be on overall layout, parking, stormwater drainage, and preparing the site for future projects such as tennis, basketball, and shuffleboard. Other outdoor possibilities include shuffleboard, bocce, a community garden, and environmental education. The firm’s design will also include expanding the parking area for Miracle League field and its adjacent Out-of-the-Ballpark playground, which is CTCC’s 2016 Project of the Year. Graham Park’s second phase will emphasize activities for individuals, small groups and seniors rather than extending the park’s current team sports field programs. Also at the May 5 meeting, HRG was awarded a separate contract to inspect the intersection improvements underway at Freedom Road with Valley Forge Drive and Parkwood Drive.
