A public hearing at the January 28 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors heard testimony from neighbors and from the project’s engineer on a developer’s application to create a new, upscale Planned Residential Development on a 65-acre tract at Hope Road and Woodlawn Road, in the eastern part of Cranberry. The plan, called Forest Edge, envisions building 59 homes in two phases. Much of the property had previously been used for farming. It is surrounded by other residential developments including Foxwood Estates, Carriage Manor, Forest Knoll, Windwood Heights, and Shadow Creek. The Township’s Planning Advisory Commission had previously reviewed the plans and recommended approval. On February 4, the Board will consider final action on the proposed development application, although concerns related to nearby road conditions will be studied by Township engineers prior to the start of any construction.
