It’s hard to categorize Club Leaf & Bean – a private cigar and social clubhouse planned for a remote 1.3 acre site on a wooded site along Ehrman Road near I-79. The closest Cranberry’s zoning code could come was to tag it as a nightclub. But unlike conventional nightclubs, it will only be available to members and there are no staff personnel on duty – members can only access the building using fingerprint sensors. The Clubhouse building will mirror Leaf & Bean’s one other location, in North Strabane Township, Washington County. At its June 4 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors gave conditional use approval to the structure, where members can select cigars from its walk-in humidor, watch sports on its big screen television, play 18 holes of golf on its Pebble Beach simulator, maintain their own bottled beverage supplies, sit out on its deck or patio, and prepare food in one of its two gourmet kitchens.
