Public hearings on proposed revisions to Phase One of the Master Plan for the Village of Cranberry Woods – the 57-acre property at the southwest corner of Franklin Road and Rt. 228 – have been put off until November 19. The project envisions a new 116 room hotel and a 7,000 square foot restaurant, in addition to the Hilton Garden Inn already on the site. The remaining phases of the project, which were sold by Creative Real Estate to the Madison Development Group, will see significant changes from the project’s original vision, which had included the UPMC/Penguins facility now under construction in Cranberry Springs, a mile away. At the applicant’s request, public testimony on the project’s Conditional Use request has been postponed pending the results of an engineering report on the integrity of the site’s retaining wall.
