Vogel Disposal Services was selected as the Township’s waste contractor when Cranberry’s Collection Connection program initially went into effect in November of 2004. At the conclusion of its five year agreement, Waste Management became Cranberry’s designated hauler of residential garbage, yard waste, and recycling. Now, as the third five-year contract period approaches, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors has ratified a new five-year agreement, this time again with Vogel, the low bidder. The contract, which would result in an increase of $1.50 for each class of service starting in November, also contains a Township option to extend the agreement by an additional five years beginning in 2019, should it choose to do so. As part of the company’s agreement, new trucks fueled by compressed natural gas will be acquired for use in the Township.
