A project to repair and strengthen an interceptor collection pipe in two Township neighborhoods is moving forward.
The Board of Supervisors on November 7 approved a contract with Pipe Contracting LP for the cleaning and lining of Interceptor 14. That location was identified by Township staff as a high priority in the quest to minimize infiltration and inflow in the Township.
The interceptor collects flows throughout the Cranberry Village and Valleybrook developments, connecting to the Township's main trunk line downstream. A portion of the pipe is clay and prone to root intrusion, which allows water to infiltrate the sanitary sewer system. Lining the pipe will eliminate roots and water infiltration, freeing up collection system capacity.
