While Cranberry’s twice-yearly Slow Down Campaign goes great lengths to calm traffic in busy neighborhoods, members of the Cranberry Heights Homeowners Association want to see those results year-round.
The Board of Supervisors on May 2 entered into a program agreement for a permanent radar speed counter with the Cranberry Heights HOA. The neighborhood routinely participates in the bi-annual Slow Down Campaign in which radar is used to reduce speeding at peak times of the year.
Seeking a more permanent solution, Cranberry Heights will receive a permanent sign, with costs split between the HOA and the Township.
To allow for the agreement, the Board also approved the creation of a Permanent Radar Speed Sign Installation Policy to encourage and manage similar requests in the future. The policy accounts for installation efforts and traffic data counts, as well as responsibility for those tasks.
