Cranberry Township recycling and yard waste carts that are nearing two decades of use are due for an upgrade.
The Township will host a cart replacement event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 4 at the Public Works Building, 20729 Route 19. This is the quickest way for residents to receive a new cart.
Recycling (blue top) and yard waste (green top) carts that were manufactured between 2004 and 2008 are eligible for the free replacement. The age of the carts can be identified via the first two numbers of the serial number on the front of the cart. Existing carts must be exchanged before receiving a new cart.
If residents are not able to transport carts, they may call Township Customer Service at 724-776-4806 and request a replacement. There is no timeline for replacement.
All used carts received will be sent to Rehrig Pacific to be recycled. The replacement is covered via a grant received by the Township, which decreases the financial impact on customers.
