Business is about to pick up at the Municipal Center
During the August 3 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board approved four contracts related to the Municipal Center Modernization project.
Work around the building has been ongoing, with the rear and side parking lots undergoing an overhaul.
Now, crews will focus on the inside of the building, which has remained basically unchanged for more than three decades.
Contracts awards include FMS Construction Company (general contracting), K&K Mechanical Services Inc. (HVAC), East End Plumbing and Mech Inc. (plumbing), and Allegheny City Electric Inc. (electrical).
A portion of the work will be paid for via a $1.25 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program Award from the Commonwealth that was received last winter.
