With more than 1,000 members and a prominent spot in the regional scene in hand, the Cranberry Township Pickleball Association is growing in popularity and beyond the league’s expectations.
To facilitate court needs, additions to the pickleball facility in UPMC Passavant Sportsplex at Graham Park are set to receive consideration from the Board of Supervisors at their March 3 meeting.
The Board will consider the purchase of shades for the court area that would provide relief from the sun and heat during the summer months for both players and spectators.
Also up for consideration is the purchase of court lighting to allow for longer use of the courts into each evening.
Later in 2022, to meet the demand of play, CTPA plans to evaluate options to construct a potential new indoor pickleball facility at the UPMC Passavant Sportsplex at Graham Park adjacent to the outdoor courts. The Board is being asked to authorize a bid for that project during its March 3 meeting.
