[ARCHIVED] School year start triggers Slow-Down campaign

The back-to-school phase of Cranberry Township’s spring-fall driver speed awareness campaign in residential neighborhoods is well underway. Yard signs and radar speed signs, together with increased police patrols, have been posted in 40 neighborhoods across Cranberry. The campaign began on Seneca Valley’s first day of school, August 29, and it will continue through September 14. The program – build around a nationwide campaign theme created by the national nonprofit Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 Foundation – is timed to raise driver awareness of Cranberry’s 25 miles an hour residential speed limit at the beginning and end of Seneca Valley’s school year. Program costs are being underwritten by CTCC – Cranberry Township Community Chest; RJ Community Management, and the Township government.
