The 34.3-acre Meeder property, at the corner of Rt. 19 and Rochester Road, is about to become a major mixed-use development. A grading application from the developer, Charter Homes, would give the project an opportunity to install its roads before the asphalt plant closes for the season this fall. Although the grading is being done in conjunction with the site’s preliminary master plan, due to its large size, it is also considered to be a separate entity. Having roadway pavement put down prior to winter would make construction of Phase I on the site cleaner and avoid unnecessary delay. A grading permit is for earthmoving only; it does not allow the builder to install any sewer, water or any other utility lines until the project receives final approval. Consideration of the application will be given by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its August 2 meeting.
