With Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game just a week away, Cranberry Township author and journalist Frank Garland will discuss his experiences researching and writing about two Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame baseball players, Willie Stargell
and Joseph Floyd “Arky” Vaughan. Both are ranked among the top performers ever to wear a Pirates uniform, with Stargell leading the team to a 1979 World Series championship and Vaughan carrying the Pirates to the brink of the 1938 National League pennant, only to see his team turned away in the waning days of the season by one of the most famous home runs in the history of baseball. Seating is limited and registration is required.
