When does a private home cross the line from being a pet-loving residence into being a kennel? It is a question that Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors will consider at a public hearing September 24. The need to clarify the definition came up in response to a situation in neighboring Beaver County where a rescue shelter was created in a residential neighborhood. At its September 3 meeting, the Board approved advertising the modifications to the proposed zoning ordinance amendment, which would clarify the definition of kennels and where they are permitted. Another modification would expand the definition of a methadone clinic to include medications other than methadone which are administered to treat drug addiction.
