The Allegheny League of Municipalities and its Chairman, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, have designated Cranberry as one of 42 Banner Communities for 2015. It is the third consecutive year that Cranberry Township – the only honoree outside of Allegheny County – has been recognized in the program. Banner Communities are municipalities honored for implementing best practices in their operations and for governing in an inclusive, collaborative manner. Fitzgerald characterized the designated communities as ‘the best of the best.’ “These 42 communities have set a standard for how government should function,” he said.
