CTCC – the Cranberry Township Community Chest – was recently selected to receive the prestigious Community Champion Award from the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society. PRPS is a statewide organization of recreation professionals representing state parks, universities, the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and municipal governments. The organization’s Community Champion Award, which was announced February 26, recognizes individual volunteers and groups who have made significant contributions to their local parks, recreational programs, and facilities. The award was presented at the PRPS annual awards banquet during its state conference on March 24, in Lancaster. Parks & Recreation Director Pete Geis accepted on behalf of CTCC. At the March 26 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors, Geis passed the award along to CTCC Board officers Roy Wagner and Cindy Marzock.
