Required Clearances - Under age 18 (and you are NOT turning 18 during the current calendar year)

If you have unexpired clearances that have been completed within the past four years, and can provide copies of them,  please complete the CPSL Disclosure Statement. A witness and your parent or guardian must also sign this document.  Anyone may be used to provide the witness signature, but it must be someone other than the person that signs as your parent or guardian. Bring this completed form to your induction appointment along with copies of your clearances.

Please note the following about previous clearances:

  • Volunteer clearances are not acceptable for employment clearances.
  • FBI clearances must be done through the Department of Human Services.  We are unable to accept FBI clearances completed through the PA Department of Education.

If this is your first time obtaining clearances, the following clearances are required:

1. Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check conducted by the State Police (PSP clearance). This clearance will be processed by the Cranberry Township Human Resources Department. Review your Summary of Rights, print the document, and retain for your records. Then, download and complete the two documents below, and bring these to your induction appointment.

*The completed forms will also provide the Township with authority to conduct a Driver’s Background Check for all employees who will drive a Township vehicle.

2. Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
Visit the Child Welfare Portal to complete an application and obtain an electronic report.  Please refer to the attached Child Abuse Clearance Directions for further information.  The Payment Code was sent to you by email and is required to complete this application. This application must be completed prior to your new hire induction appointment.  Human Resources will be able to download your clearance from their online system once it is available. You will not be permitted to start work until this clearance has been processed.

3. Federal Background Check conducted by the FBI
If you are currently under the age of 18, will not be turning 18 during the current calendar year, AND you have lived in the state of Pennsylvania continuously for the past 10 years, you do not need to obtain the Federal Background Check. If this applies to you, please complete the
CPSL Disclosure Statement. A witness and your parent or guardian must also sign this document.  Anyone may be used to provide the witness signature, but it must be someone other than the person that signs as your parent or guardian. Bring this completed form to your induction appointment.

If you have NOT lived in the state of Pennsylvania continuously for the past 10 years OR if you will be turning 18 during the current calendar year, you WILL need to obtain a Federal Background Check. Visit the IdentoGO website  to register to be fingerprinted for your FBI clearance. Please refer to the FBI Clearance Application Directions for further information and a list of fingerprinting locations. The Authorization Payment Code was sent to you by email and is required to complete this application.

Please note: it can take 7 or more days to get an appointment for your fingerprinting, so register for your fingerprinting as soon as possible. You will receive a receipt when you get fingerprinted. Bring a copy of the receipt to your induction appointment. You will not be permitted to start work until your FBI Fingerprinting Receipt is received by Human Resources.

You will receive an email from status@dev.pasafecheck.identogo.com with the Subject of “DHS- OCYF Applicant Letter Ready” as soon as your Eligibility Letter (FBI Clearance) has been processed. This email will give you a link to a site where you can access and download the clearance. Please print your Eligibility Letter and bring this with you to your New Hire Induction if you have received it by then. If you have difficulties with downloading the electronic copy of your clearance, you should receive a hard copy of the clearance in the mail within a couple of weeks from your fingerprinting appointment. You can turn that in when you receive it.

If you have not received your Eligibility Letter (FBI clearance) prior to your induction appointment, you must complete the CPSL Disclosure Statement and bring it to your appointment.  A witness and your parent or guardian must also sign this document.  Anyone may be used to provide the witness signature, but it must be someone other than the person that signs as your parent or guardian. You will then need to send a copy of your Eligibility Letter (FBI clearance) to Human Resources at EmploymentForms@cranberrytownship.org as soon as you receive it.  It must be submitted to Human Resources no later than 45 days from your date of hire. You will not be permitted to work if it is not received by that date.
