Hi! I’m Hunter Berneburg, and I am a Recreation Program Supervisor and the Director of Camp Cranberry. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Resort, Recreation, and Hospitality Management and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Slippery Rock University. I spent two summers as an intern for Cranberry Township’s Parks and Recreation Department assisting in the implementation of Camp Cranberry - which lead me to a professional career in recreation, and a love of Cranberry Township. After graduation, I worked as the Aquatics Coordinator for the Township of Upper St. Clair, before taking over as the Program Manager/Aquatics Director for Butler County’s Parks and Recreation Department. In the fall of 2021, I found my way back to Cranberry Township, and I could not be happier. I look forward to a fun, safe, activity-filled summer with our campers! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more information about our outstanding camp program.

Hi! I'm Amanda Bartell, and I am a Recreation Program Supervisor and the Director of the Mini Movers Summer Camp. I received my undergraduate degree in Sport and Recreation Administration from Edinboro University. After graduating, I moved to Columbia, Maryland in 2013 and worked in the Sports Division of Howard County Recreation and Parks for 8 years as a Recreation Program Supervisor. I oversaw the preschool sports, martial arts, gymnastics, youth soccer league, and pickleball programs along with a variety of other smaller programs, tournaments, and events for the department. I started with Cranberry Township in September of 2021 and oversee the preschool programs and a variety of sports programs. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, camping, hiking and boating.
Jennifer Shipe
Lead Camp Coordinator
I am very excited to join Hunter and her team this summer as the Lead Camp Coordinator. My husband, two daughters and I have been residents of Cranberry for the past 9 years and have the privilege of utilizing the extensive resources and programs provided by the Parks and Recreation department. My background is in education with many years of service as both an elementary school teacher in grades Kindergarten through third grade and a school counselor for both elementary and high school students. I have been a school counselor at Haine Middle School for the past 11 years, working with students in fifth and sixth grade. Outside of work I love spending time with family, walking my dogs, travelling and baking. I look forward to working with the camp staff, campers and their families to make summer camp a worthwhile experience!

Each year, we conduct a parent survey at the close of the season. Parent comments and suggestions help us develop new programs and activities.
Here is a sampling of their comments.
“I felt you did an outstanding job of taking COVID-19 precautions. I know it was a lot of training, money, planning, and frustration and I am grateful that you didn't just fold up and skip this year. I really appreciated all the safety protocols.”
“I thought the preparations and safety measures were very well done and I applaud the staff and directors. I know what a HUGE undertaking this was, and it went very smoothly for my daughter and she had a fabulous time.”
“As a parent for me your drop off and pick up times were ideal and if I were working in the office I had the option of extended care.”
“Both of my kids had a great experience! They loved all the activities, especially the pool. Thank you for making this program available for working parents. There has been so much uncertainty lately and it’s commendable that you kept the program going this summer.
"We have also enrolled them in Kids Club plus and we couldn’t be more grateful for that as well! Keep up the great work. We recommend your programs to all our friends.”
“My son was so excited to be in camp this year. He had great time every day- enjoyed spending times with his friends and true play time ( w/out electronics). He liked all activities while in camp.”
“Great program for the kids to keep them occupied during the summer!”
