New Hope for the dead

Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church on Rowan Road, which observed its centennial anniversary in Cranberry two years ago, has received conditional use approval to add several small mausoleum buildings to its property. The church does not currently operate a cemetery on site. Each of the proposed marble and granite mausoleums will be used for the internment of ashes from four deceased congregants. The structures will be built in a grassy area on the opposite side of the church from where homes are located. No graves or headstones are planned for the property.
