Our 2019 recipient is Dr. Ed Sarver.
Ed has been involved with the Cranberry Public Library since the 1970s, when the library occupied a closet sized space in the former Cranberry Township Municipal Building, located less than 1 mile from its current location. He’s served as a member of the library’s board for 5 terms, totaling 15 years of service. For at least 5 of those years he served as the library’s president. Additionally, he was a member of the library’s board when the Mazzoni Spirit of Giving Award was formed, and was one of the champions of its inception.
An ambassador for progress and positive change, Ed was instrumental in developing the library’s current 5-year plan which led to the Library’s 2019 Project of the Year, Forge Ahead: Library Makeover, sponsored by the Cranberry Township Community Chest. The renovation project includes the addition of a makerspace to the library’s current services.
