The former Sheetz building on Old Freedom Road may not be around much longer. At its May 30 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors accepted testimony on conditional use and land development applications from J P Morgan Chase Bank to raze the old Sheetz building and erect a new, 3,470 square foot bank branch on the .94-acre site. Because the property is oddly positioned as a result of right-of-way takings, the bank is requesting relief from Township setback requirements. However, various streetscape enhancements are included in the plan. At the conclusion of the public comment period, the Board agreed to consider final action at its June 6 meeting.
