The Township had initially planned to replace all of Cranberry Highlands’ five-year old golf carts a year ago based on its standard vehicle replacement program schedule. But a number of changes have occurred in golf cart technology over the past few years, particularly concerning their battery lives. As a result, the decision was made to postpone the fleet replacement long enough to evaluate the significance of those changes to Cranberry Highlands. At its December 6 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved the purchase 80 new carts featuring advanced technology, at an estimated cost of $543,000. The purchase includes full GPS capability and full-service maintenance as well as delivery.
