Testimony on tentative plans for a new 81-unit townhome community in the Township’s northwest quadrant were heard by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its January 26 meeting. The proposed development, consisting of 3, 5 and 6-unit structures, is on a 24-acre site previously owned by the Schneider family. The YMCA carrying the family name is on an adjacent parcel of land. Plans call for the housing project to be accessed from Florida Boulevard – currently a private gravel road across from the auto auction. Improvements to that road, including the addition of sidewalks, lighting, street trees and municipal water and sewer service, as well as modest improvements to accommodate traffic turning from Rt. 19 onto Florida Boulevard, are also included in the plans. Following the conclusion of testimony, the Board agreed to consider action on the developer’s application at its meeting on February 2.
