A developer’s application to create a new, upscale Planned Residential Development on a 65-acre tract at Hope Road and Woodlawn Road in the eastern part of Cranberry has been approved by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors, along with associated right-of-way and sewer line easement agreements. The plan, called Forest Edge, envisions the construction of 59 homes in two phases. Much of the property had previously been used for farming. It is surrounded by other residential developments including Foxwood Estates, Carriage Manor, Forest Knoll, Windwood Heights, and Shadow Creek. During the Board’s February 4 meeting, Ron Henshaw, Director of Planning and Development, reported on numerous conversations which had taken place with concerned neighbors during the past week. Issues discussed included access points, road improvements, water line tap ins, stormwater release rates, grading, tree cutting and construction timing.
