Kiddie Academy
Much More than Just ABC's and 1,2,3's
When Kiddie Academy Child Care Learning Center arrived in Cranberry Township at 1044 North Boundary Road, it brought more than just ABC’s and 123’s. It brought life essential lessons so children would have the tools to lead a healthier and more productive life. Children who are enrolled at Kiddie Academy have the opportunity to explore, play, and grow, while utilizing educational concepts to teach at every level – cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically. These concepts are utilized throughout the day, including learning through playtime. Children are inspired to discover and become confident in their understanding of the world, thus are more “school ready” when the time is right.
The “discovery” of Cranberry Township for co-owner and Center Director Mona Bhatia was an obvious location choice for Kiddie Academy, as Dave and Mona Bhatia are long-time residents of the township, plus they saw a need for a child care facility in a thriving economy. “Our children are the future leaders of this world. They will be the next doctors, lawyers, teachers, and scientists,” said Bhatia. “Character is the pillar of our mission and Cranberry Township emanates that.”
Character development is present throughout the foundation of Kiddie Academy. The teachers and staff emphasizes character development through daily activities where children have the opportunity to make good choices. Teachers are specifically trained to empower learning in every child, and encourage them to succeed at their own pace. “Our job is to educate children and we take that very seriously. We strive to offer the very best care to every single child. We have found that learning through play is the most effective way to enhance knowledge.” added Bhatia.
Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials curriculum is based on best practices and experiences. It includes an emphasis on learning skills in reading, writing, math and science, plus offers development in language arts, creative movement/drama, technology & computers, and health & fitness. As children grow they take what they’ve learned and apply their knowledge to the next level. The levels of care at Kiddie Academy range from 6 weeks to 12-years-old (before and after school program). Operating hours will run Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Family style dining meals are provided, along with an offering of healthy snacks. Busing is also available to most schools in the Seneca Valley School District.
Kiddie Academy features ten age-appropriate classrooms, a kitchen for an on-site meal service, three outdoor playgrounds, and a soccer field. Kiddie Academy employs a substantial number of degreed professionals who are highly trained and are continuous required to participate in professional development programs. As a result, Kiddie Academy offers so much more than just ABC’s and 123’s – it’s Cranberry Township’s newest child care facility with wisdom.
The Bhatia Family also owns and operates Kiddie Academy of Wexford that recently achieved NAEYC accreditation. NAEYC standards and criteria describe specific quality practices and explain procedures that programs use to measure their quality. It provides children and their families a higher level of quality care. Kiddie Academy of Cranberry Township maintains the same policies and practices to uphold the same level of quality as Kiddie Academy of Wexford.
